Elegance In Christ Veils

Marian Modesty

Marian Modesty:

As we journey through the life of the blessed Virgin Mary, her character stands as an example of the perfect believer—pure, obedient, and deeply humble. Mary shows the virtues of modesty, her life was not about drawing attention to herself but rather illuminating the glory of Jesus Christ. The symbolism of the veil in this context is important; it becomes a vessel through which all glory is directed to God, mirroring Mary's modesty and humility.

In the sacred teachings of the the Catholic Church, she beautifully expresses the profound concept of modesty, a virtue that safeguards the inner sanctum of one's being.

The significance of modesty is not confined to theological teachings alone; it transcends into real-life encounters. In a revelation to Jacinta of Fatima, Mary herself expressed concern about certain fashions that would offend Our Divine Lord.

"Certain fashions will be introduced which will offend Our Divine Lord very much.  Those who serve God ought not to follow these fashions.  Our Lord is always the same."

Mary shows the timeless nature of our Lord. While societal standards and fashion norms evolve over time, morality remains constant, mirroring the unchanging nature of God. This underscores the importance of preserving the sacred tradition of veiling—we must not relinquish it. Veiling is a pleasing practice to God but also holds significance for our revered Mother.

Upholding the sacred tradition of veiling is not merely a gesture of adherence to the past; it is a choice to please God and honour our blessed Mother. In doing so, we embrace the enduring virtues of modesty and humility, keeping our focus on the presence of our Lord.
